Farewell everybody!

First off, sorry we didn't update the blog hourly on our second day of road tripping home, to be honest, nothing very interesting happened. Courtney told us the tale of Pillow Troll and his faithful friend (and sometimes love) Wormsley Dog. We had a musical sing-a-long where Robert screeched along to Defying Gravity. We played some games...fairly typical road trip stuff.

We are all now home, and recuperating from our nine days together! We have one more day off to recover before we return to the second half of the semester on Monday. Thanks to everybody who took the time to read this blog and let us know how much you were enjoying it. We all thought we were crazy when we started it, and that nobody would read it, but apparently we couldn't have been more wrong. We had almost 3000 page views and readers in ten different countries, so apparently you guys enjoyed hearing about our crazy antics. Seriously though, which one of you is reading this from Pakistan?

Anyway, we're signing off for good, as #CampDisney has officially come to an end. You may now all return to your regular lives, and not obsessively read about every moment the four of us spent together. Who knows, maybe we'll have another trip next year, and if we do, we'll definitely obsessively blog every moment of it.

Thanks for everything!

  - Zach, Robert, Colleen, and Courtney

Hour Fourteen and Fifteen: Oops!

We all fell asleep minus the driver so we missed the last blog post! Sorry loyal readers. Since we have been sleeping there are no fun updates :( Yawnnnn

Robert: Ahhh! (In a whisper)
Colleen: Zzzzzzz
Zach:Zzzzzz
Courtney: Yawn. I'm not even sure what state we are in.

Hour Thirteen: Dairy Queen!

We didn't eat any Dairy Queen, but we did make a quick pit stop there and switch off drivers! Also in this hour, we hit some bridge constriction and sat in traffic for about ten minutes, and found a good radio station to listen to! Life is good, otherwise.

Time for everybody's favorite activity! Check!

Robert: MERGE!
Courtney: This has been an enjoyable frolic through Virginia!
Colleen: I'm awake now!

See you next hour!

Hour Twelve: The Open Road

We are still driving safe and sound. Nothing exciting has happened. We are in Virginia now, so that is cool. Okay time for checks!

Zach: I'm proud of myself for not falling for it his time. I believe today will be a nice leisurely drive.
Robert: My book made me sleepy.
Colleen: zzzzz still sleeping
Courtney: Texting my brother makes me miss him! Hey Ry guy (if you are reading this)!

Kickoff to Day 2 of driving!

We are on the road again! Zach is driving the first half. Dunkin Donuts was our breakfast of choice again an boy was it yummy. It is currently drizzling outside but when has a little rain ever dampened an Ithacan's spirit?! We will continue our hourly updates until we reach our final destination: Ithaca College.

Checks:

Colleen: zzzzzzz already sleeping
Robert: Yay Ithaca! (Said with very little enthusiasm)
Zach: Dunkin Donuts makes me happy.
Courtney: Wooo more driving!

Hour Ten: We got gas.

Yes, we filled up the tank. It was at a gas station in the middle of no where, there was actually nothing else around. There were bars on the windows. It had a sign that said no baggy pants and there was a dog wandering. Nothing as eventful as his has happened in the past hour.

Check:

Colleen:" EeeeeeEeeee" singing along to Taylor Swifts Trouble
Robert: 46 miles to South of the Border
Zach: Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?
Courtney: The combination of sweet and salty snacks is the definition of perfection.

Hour Eleven: Story time!

It's been very quite in the car up until five minutes ago. Because Zach is needy, he asked me to tell him a story. Even though I spent a semester telling stories, I didn't have enough energy to make one up on the spot. Colleen then decided to tell a story about a boy named Robert who never paid attention. Courtney then told a story of a troll named Hohn— the Hohn Troll.

Naturally, I was offended by these awful stories and pouted about how awful my friends were being to me! Courtney then changed the troll's name to Pillow Troll and Colleen told a story of an amazing boy named Robert Hohn who was loved by everyone!

Nothing else happened during the last hour, but I did start playing Hunter Hayes for everyone's listening pleasure.

CHECK!

Zach: Yeah?... Just as a side note, I always said "Robert" before doing a check earlier, not "Hey, Robert."
Courtney: HARHARHARHAR
Colleen: Are we there yet??
Robert: ONE MORE HOUR!

Also, I apologize for this awful post. We're all past the point of exhaustion.

I'll be sure to let y'all know when we arrive to our hotel!

South of the Border! (Wait aren't we going to North Carolina?)

Hello faithful readers. It's Colleen, back to keep you updated on our riveting drive back to NY. To be totally honest, I have no clue what hour we're on, but I'll let you know how we've kept ourselves occupied recently.

1. Our friend Delilah has been entertaining us on the radio talking to various lovers from across the country, professing her love of Keri's skin cream, and playing the hits from 2005.

2. After seeing at least 50 billboards for a mysterious entertainment complex called South of the Border, we decided to stop and check it out. It was very strange. There are pictures below.

3. Check:
Zach- yeah
Robert- lolz
Courtney- zzzzzzzzzzzzz (sleeping)

Hour Eight: I just woke up. Not sure where we are.

Well, Colleen and I just woke up so I am not sure exactly what has happened over the past hour. We just had snack time and I am coloring. I sound five years old but it is a way to past the time. Robert is still doing homework. The others are chilling or you know driving which is important. Now, it is time to shock them with checks. Let's see what funny things they say, I don't think they realize its blog time.

Checks:

Zach: I think Georgia in the evening is beautiful even though we are in South Carolina (I found out where we are!)
Robert: What? Uh, why am I always first?
Colleen: I'm sleepy.
Courtney: There are lots of trees lining the highway.

Hour Seven: Cosmo!

After two stops, we've finally made it to South Carolina. Little Miss Colleen and Courtney fell asleep, even though they were WIDE awake five minutes ago!! While they were awake, Courtney read aloud our horoscopes from that Cosmo magazine. All of them were creepily relevant to each of our lives- except for Zach's.

Now that Colleen and Courtney are asleep, I've been doing some homework like a good boy. I've been trying to keep Zach entertained, but haven't been doing a very good job.

While we were still in Georgia, we saw some neat-o helicopter being towed by tiny little pick-up truck.

Zach: ".... I am the very model of a modern major general."
Courtney: **chirp cricket chirp**
Colleen: 💤💤💤
Robert: "Oh, how I've missed Next to Normal!"

Until next time, my friends. ✌

Hour Six: GOT 'EM!

We're finally back on the road! Myself, Courtney, and Colleen all bought super nice outfits at the Gap Outlet and got them for a steal!

Zach took over the wheel, so he'll be driving for the remainder of today's leg. Hopefully these next six hours go by quickly because I want to be warm and comfy in a giant bed! Next to Normal will keep us company for the next hour and a half (to Zach's dismay).

Zach: "... What?... Oh..."
Courtney: "I did think about it."
Colleen: "Haha! Zach fell for his own trick!"
Robert: "SO happy to catch Zach off guard!"

So long for now!

--Robert

Georgia Peaches (Hour Five)

Driving through the land of peaches still. Singing some Next to Normal. Had to make quick stop so we are at some random outlets!

Check:

Robert: Hmmmm, yay polo!
Colleen: Check out all these deals!
Courtney: Enjoying some sunshine!
Zach: MIA but not really....it's a mystery

Sonic! Sonic! Sonic! (Hour Four!)

St. Mary's, GA
2:42 PM

We are all at Sonic right now, enjoying some delicious food. Well, except for Courtney, who is currently in the car giving what I am sure is a phenomenal phone interview.

We are basking in the Georgia sun for a few last moments before we get into the car to continue our journey.

Robert: You know what would be a great way to bring in customers at McDonalds?
Colleen: Check?
Courtney: (interviewing)
Zach: I really don't want anything but warm weather ever again.

MY BLOG POST DISAPPEARED. (Hour Three)

Yulee, GA
1:42 PM

I had a really great blog post written, but it was somehow deleted.

You didn't really miss much, except we're in Georgia, and we saw some birds, and we're about to eat Sonic.

Enjoy this photo of a Georgia red light. Fascinating how different red lights are in different states. Note the subtle differences.

Check:
Robert: Sonic!
Colleen: Sonic!
Courtney: Interview soon!
Zach: It's cold in this car!

Thanks for taking the time to speak with me. (Hour Two)

In this riveting hour, we held mock phone interviews! And that was pretty much it. Still enjoying the easy, breezy drive through Florida. Not a whole lot happened, and we kind of like it that way.

Enjoy this photo of a U-Haul, because like our blog, it has built-in value.

Check!

Robert: Hour three, yay!
Colleen: Is this my check?
Courtney: We just passed camping world...we went camping this week.
Zach: I can't wait to catch up on the hours of TV I've missed on Sunday.

Spring Break 2k14 Dreaming! (Hour One)

Deltona, FL
11:42 AM

This hour was jam packed with excitement! Colleen pumped gas! Robert paid tolls! We drove in sunny Florida! We listened to music! See? I told you this trip would be riveting!

We have also been planning our spring break trip next year. We have decided that since we are starting the planning process now, we have more time to save money and can dream a little bigger. Here are our current options: Cancun, California tour (San Diego, San Francisco, LA, Napa Valley, etc.), Hawaii, Europe.

Also, since Robert will be student teaching, we are currently accepting applications to fill the fourth spot for our Spring Break plans. Please submit a cover letter, résumé, and writing sample to campdisney2013@gmail.com. Requirements: willing to put up with our crazy antics, be obsessed with travel blogging, desire to eat PB&J daily.

Check time!
Robert: No! I had something!
Colleen: Mic check! One! Two! Three!
Courtney: It's so sunny out right now!
Zach: Meow?

(Sniffle) Heading back to Ithaca (sob) Hour Zero

10:42 AM
Orlando, FL

It's Hour Zero again, and #CampDisney is back on the road to Ithaca! Today is sure to be an exhilarating ten-ish hours of driving including such wonderful things as: phone interviews! Lunch at Sonic (maybe!) Stopping to investigate whatever is at that random South of the Border place!

Be sure to check the blog hourly for our road trip updates! I can personally guarantee they'll be even better than last time.

Instead of Enthusiasm checks for our return voyage, we're just going to have a check to make sure everybody is still in the car and alive. Not totally sure what we're checking for here, but it is sure to be amusing!

Robert: Why me first?
Colleen: I don't know what to say!
Courtney: Here!
Zach: I'm really looking forward to what will be said here throughout the trip.

Enjoy these pictures of us being sad Disney is over. (tear)

Spontaneous Day!

Before we get into our discussion of Spontaneous Day, enjoy this side by side comparison of Colleen with the Denmark Norway troll, and one of her with Ariel, her idol.

Colleens with trolls

Prepping for her future job singing Part of Your World every 17 minutes.

Today, we woke up and based on the very cold temperatures and a forecast that predicted it would only get colder, decided to pack up a day early and spend tonight at Courtney's aunt's house, who had generously offered to host us again. It was so spontaneous!

So after we slept into as much as we wanted (spontaneously woke up!) we packed up our campsite, and said good by to campsite 1504 and the rest of Fort Wilderness.

Folding air mattresses!

Packing the back seat!

Sad, empty campsite.

Spontaneously heading to the Magic Kingdom!
After that we spontaneously (well, not really, we discussed it the night before) returned to Magic Kingdom to ride everything we wanted to one last time, and see a few things that we missed out on before.

 - Robert miraculously was able to get a perfect score on Buzz Lightyear, proving that he was the true Galactic Hero among us. He was very proud of this moment, and it may be the crowning achievement of his young life.

The perfect score.

Robert overjoyed in front of the on-ride camera

 - After staring at them for days, Courtney finally (spontaneously!) decided to get the Mickey ice cream, and Colleen and I joined her for some delicious frozen Disney treats.

nom nom nom
 - We saw Mickey's Philharmagic and the Hall of Presidents (spontaneously!) which we missed out on our first day of Magic Kingdom, which was fun! We also rode Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad again (not spontaneously, we got fast passes), since we loved them both so much.

Courtney and Robert with their 3D glasses before Philharmagic

Once we were done at Magic Kingdom, we headed over to Downtown Disney to have a nice farewell dinner at Portobello (pseudo-spontaneous, we decided that day, but we had to get a reservation), and it was a nice change of pace to eat something that wasn't PB&J or fast food, and reminisce about the awesome week we had at Disney.

Look! Real food! (Real food not pictured)
Overjoyed about the prospect of real food.
We then drove back to Courtney's aunt's house, and are prepping for our road trip back to Ithaca. Cannot wait for road trip, part two, and we all know what road tripping means...the return of hourly blog posts! So get your refresh button ready tomorrow, because we know for sure we're going to have a rollicking good time traveling from Florida to North Carolina!

What is this Denmark ride? It's Norway!

Today, #CampDisney went to Epcot!

ERMAHGERD! ERPCERT!
This was a fairly standard day for us, nothing too crazy happened, so enjoy this collection of moments.

 - Soarin and Test Track both had absurd waits. We managed to get Fast Passes for both, but ditched our Fast Passes for Test Track to ride the single rider line. (Hope you enjoyed those fast passes, random family we gave them to!)

 - We were here for the annual Epcot Flower and Garden show! We were endlessly fascinated by the topiaries of our favorite Disney characters.

This one should go in some promotional materials or something.

To Infinity, and Beyond!

She don't love you no more, Big Baby.
 - Colleen and Courtney took a quick visit to Cancun for Spring Break and enjoyed some margaritas in Mexico, and then came back to Florida to explore the rest of the World Showcase.

SPRING BREAK WOOOOOO!

Enjoying some frozen margaritas.
 - My personal favorite ride goes to the random ride in Norway, Maelstrom, which ends in a delightfully outdated film about the wonders of Norway. Robert kept getting Norway and Denmark confused, to my enjoyment.

Colleen holding the nose of some weird troll.

 - We were reminded that Jesus loves us via skywriters.

Jesus, take the wheeeeeeeeeeel!
 - We all became Habit Heroes, and learned habits for a healthy lifestyle through a variety of games and exercises. We were slightly deceived  since we were told that we would turn into superheroes should we go on this attraction, but were not told at all that it was blatant health propaganda. Oh well.

We left the park around dinner time for a quick nap, and then headed over to the Fort Wilderness campfire and movie night! We munched on some smores and watched 40ish minutes of Toy Story 2, and then turned in for an early night and some wi-fi time by the pool.

So, uh, sorry we didn't take more pictures. Oops. Tomorrow...spontaneity! Except we already talked about it. But I'm not going to tell you what we're doing, so it's a surprise for everybody else! WOOOO!

Raindrops keep falling on our heads, but that doesn't mean we're not going to ride everything at Magic Kingdom!

We woke on on Tuesday to the gentle pitter patter of falling rain on our tent. Inside the tent, it sounded like a torrential downpour, but really wasn't that bad in reality. We sucked it up, got ready, and piled into the car to head to the Magic Kingdom.

When we arrived to the Kingdom, rain was falling pretty steadily, but we didn't let this deter us. Thanks to Ithaca for prepping all of us for horrendous weather pretty constantly. While it didn't hinder us, it apparently hindered quite a bit of people, as we pretty much were able to ride anything we wanted in 20 minutes or less. Again, here are some Magic Kingdom highlights:

 - As we walked around in the rain, to cheer us up, we sang Annie throughout Tomorrowland, singing "The sun will come out...this afternoon!" Luckily we were right, however we had already completed most of the park by the time the sun actually came out.

 - We rode Space Mountain three times! Thanks, short wait times! We also took this opportunity to make faces at the ride camera, including one time where we just slackjawed at the camera.

We're all really strange.
 - Also on the list of things we rode three times: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, including twice at night! Robert also potentially freaked out the ride attendant by slackjawing at her, and she didn't really know what was happening and the ride took off before any of us had time to explain.

Robert, Courtney, and Colleen outside Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!

 - Buzz Lightyear was also seen three times, and Robert had a hypothesis that one side was more likely to win than the other...results were inconclusive. (I think he was just upset that I consistently beat him.) Enjoy these ride photos:

Robert and Colleen!

Robert and Zach!

Zach and Courtney!

Colleen and Robert!
 - Attraction we were all most fascinated by (and also went on three times, see a theme?): Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. We were all flabbergasted by how the characters interacted with us personally! Both Courtney and I had jokes that we texted in featured in the show (Courtney had three jokes: Why didn't the skeleton cross the road? He had no guts! Why doesn't Cinderella play soccer? She is always running away from the ball and has a pumpkin as a coach! Why didn't Winnie the Pooh order dessert? He was already stuffed! Zach's joke: How do you throw a party in space? You plan-et!) I was also featured on camera as a 'person who looks like they want to dance', and I proceeded to make a fool of myself for a minute or two in front of the audience.

 - Another way in which I made a fool of myself: I was selected to be a knight in Story Time with Belle! Along with a handful of small children, I got to march in place and shriek along with Belle's story.

Can you tell which one is me?

I GOT TO MEET BELLE!
 - Award for most stupid puns that made us laugh: Jungle Cruise, which we also had to go on twice, just to appreciate the horribleness of the puns.

Me with the card given to us to track the wait time in line...I was slightly obsessed with getting one.

 - We spent a few minutes dancing at Club 626 that night in Tomorrowland, enjoy this picture of Courtney dancing with Chip (or is it Dale?!?)

Dancin' the night away.
 - We (wisely) left the Magic Kingdom right after the sun came out, and returned later that evening for fireworks, parades, and riding things over and over again. We avoided the crowds, got some shuteye, and were able to enjoy the direct ferry from Fort Wilderness to the Magic Kingdom! We also ran around like we were five years old at night, because we had so much energy after our naps. We're also weird people.

 - The Magic Kingdom is actually Colleen's World. She was referred to as Princess multiple times, and everything went her way. We concluded that the Magic Kingdom is actually Colleen's Kingdom, and she is just letting Disney use it.

 - If we were to work at Disney...

Zach: Pun teller on Jungle Cruise
Colleen: Working at Hollywood Studios singing Part of Your World every 17 minutes in the Little Mermaid show
Courtney: Being Belle, reading stories to children, marching in parades, general princess duties
Robert: Buzz Lightyear Ride Tester - to determine if each of the sides of the vehicle are accurately calibrated and score equally.

Cinderella's Castle at night!

Photo Courtney took of me being contemplative.

Us about to die on the Mad Tea Party.

Anyway, that's our day at Magic Kingdom. Epcot, coming up next!
