We have arrived in the Sunshine State! (Day Two Wrap Up)

11 hours of driving later, #CampDisney has arrived in Florida, and we could not be happier to be here! Luckily, we had quite an easy drive, with no traffic and beautiful weather. We stopped at a Sonic in South Carolina, so Courtney and Colleen could try it for the first time. I was also personally quite amused by the 'Disney Question of the Day', it truly got all of us in the Disney mindset! (Other personal favorite road trip memories: Robert's fear of crocodiles, discussions of common law marriages, hating on all of the poor drivers around us, and wearing shorts and a t-shirt in 30 degree Northern Virginia weather).

In North Carolina, we also passed about 100 billboards for 'South of the Border', some sort of RV park south of the North Carolina border. I had high expectations for this, since we saw so much about it, and it did not disappoint.

Yes, that's right. A giant sombrero tower!

We arrived at Courtney's aunt's house and were greeted with a delicious lasagna dinner. After two days of road food, it was quite a welcome treat. We then made a quick pit stop to the local Walmart to pick up some last minute supplies before we head to Disney World tomorrow! Can you believe it? After reading two days of non-stop road trip updates, you'll finally have something interesting to read! We do it all for you, dear reader.

After we returned from Walmart, we luxuriated in the hot tub, enjoyed the evening, and conversed (since we hadn't done enough of that on our two day road trip).

Anyway, tomorrow we shall explore the wild that is Disney's Animal Kingdom, check into Fort Wilderness, and attempt to pitch a tent. We may just be sleeping on air mattresses in the middle of a cement slab if tent pitching doesn't go well, only time will tell.

Enjoy your one less hour of sleep during Daylight Savings Time tonight, and check back later for some fascinating Animal Kingdom posts! Blogging begins bright and early at 7 AM tomorrow!
