In order to fully appreciate this post, please turn on Circle of Life. (Day Three Wrap Up)

Hello, dear reader! Before I regale you with tales of our adventures driving to Disney World, adventuring at the Animal Kingdom, setting up our campsite at Fort Wilderness, and exploring Downtown Disney, there is something important I must do. I sincerely apologize for the lack of updates on this blog on our first day at Disney World. Throughout the day, we received texts from multiple people frantically asking "Where are the blog posts?!?!" I am sorry to disappoint you, but we were much too busy living the Disney magic to be posting hourly blog posts as we did on our road trip down. To compensate, enjoy this overly long post with multiple pictures detailing everything we did today!

As Cinderella (aka Courtney) posted this morning, we left bright and early from Courtney's aunt's house to arrive at Disney World. The car was packed just about as full as it possibly could be, with Courtney and Colleen completely buried in the backseat, and Robert unable to move in the passenger seat. I enjoyed quite a bit of leg room as I drove the forty minutes to Disney World!

We arrived at the World right on time at 8 AM, and checked into Fort Wilderness. Upon check-in, I was asked if we preferred a campsite near civilization (the pool, Wi-Fi, etc,) or a more remote location. We chose the more civilized campsite, and it has turned out to be awesome. But more on that later.

Fort Wilderness! We're goin' camping!
After we received our park tickets at check-in, we sped off towards the Animal Kingdom! As we approached the entrance, we made sure that we were playing 'Circle of Life' to enhance the Animal Kingdom experience. Also, we arrived precisely at 8:30 AM, matching our Google Doc exactly, which stated that we should arrive at "8:30ish".

We made it!
We arrived at the park, and were thoroughly surprised by how short the wait times were. I hope this is a harbinger of good things to come for the rest of our trip, and that we can experience everything in a reasonable amount of time in all of the parks.

Rather than give you a play by play of our time in the Animal Kingdom, enjoy this list of highlights:

 - Expedition Everest was awesome, and we therefore felt the need to ride it three times. Special thanks to the family who gave us their extra fast passes so we could jump on earlier!

All of us outside of Expedition Everest!
- Kilimanjaro Safari was awesome! We saw quite the variety of wildlife, including giraffes, elephants, rhinos, lions, cheetahs, ostriches, and much more.

 - We all wanted to ride the Kali River Rapids, but none of us particularly wanted to get wet. As we boarded the raft, we discovered that not a single person we were riding with particularly wanted to get wet, and we all crossed our fingers that somebody else would get drenched. As she predicted, Courtney walked off the ride completely soaked, while the rest of us only had a little bit of water. At the end of the ride, we met some students from Western Kentucky State University, and after telling them that we drove from New York and were camping they said "...your spring break sounds like fun." Clearly they lack the sense of adventure that all of us here at #CampDisney pride ourselves on.

 - Inside the Tree of Life, we saw 'It's Tough to be a Bug', and were all traumatized. Between sitting in the front row, the show abruptly taking a dark and terrifying turn, being literally stabbed in the back by bees and having a variety of bugs crawl under us, this show scarred us all. Many of us left in a state of panic.

 - We quite enjoyed Finding Nemo: The Musical, and we all cried as we watched Nemo try to be reunited with his father. (Courtney would like to note that she was not moved by this performance, because she has no emotions.)

 - We prepared to be traumatized by the Dinosaur ride, but that did not turn out to be as scary as we remembered. We were expecting Bug's Life levels of fear, but it was not to be.

 - During the Festival of the Lion King, the monkey gymnasts were amazing, and we all thought they were going to break their necks multiple times, but it didn't happen. So, bravo to them.

The Tree of Life!

Robert really excited about his Mickey pretzel.
The time was now three o'clock, and having completed all of Animal Kingdom in record time, we decided to head back to Fort Wilderness to set up our campsite. After meandering around the Fort for a little bit, we pulled into our new home for the week, campsite 1504.

First order of business was to pitch the tent, and I am proud to announce that we did it with minimal issues! Sure, there were a few tent stakes left over that we don't know what to do with, and we pounded in the tent stakes with a log that we found near the campsite, but it went about as well as could be expected considering who was pitching it. We took the time to settle in, and met our neighbor, who was chastising her children for not finding enough firewood. Direct quote: "You couldn't find an adequate amount of STICKS?" We were all glad we were not her children.

Robert is not doing any better than I am.

Figuring out where all the tent pieces go.

The tent is standing! We did it!

Our luxury suite.

Colleen, Robert, and I headed into the tent to have a quick nap while Courtney sat in a chair outside and read. A few minutes later, we hear a shriek outside the tent, and Courtney reveals to us that a squirrel climbed up her chair and then onto her. We checked to ensure that she did not have rabies, and then all went back to bed. The squirrel snuck up and leapt onto her again, and that was the end of sitting outside. We have consequently been mentioning squirrel attacks all night, but Courtney does not seem to be as entertained by it as the rest of us are.

We then changed and headed over to the pool, which is literally across the street from our campsite. It couldn't get better than this. After a brief debate over weather or not is is appropriate for us to be using the kiddie water slide, we got over it and rode it multiple times. We had a few swimming races, splashed around a bit, and lounged in the hot tub. In the hot tub, we listened to a six year old child detail about how he was insensitive, and wouldn't feel anything if he was punched in the face. It was quite enlightening, and I feel that if I had the opportunity to spend more time with this child, he could teach me the meaning of life.

We returned to our campsite, showered and relaxed for a bit, and headed out to Downtown Disney. We wandered around, looking at all of the restaurants, browsing in a variety of stores, and grabbing a bite to eat. It was the perfect way to cap off our day.

Robert with his buddy Stitch.
Now, we have returned to Fort Wilderness, and we are sitting on pool chairs next to the Meadow Swimmin' Pool, because it has Wi-Fi.  Tomorrow we we explore Disney's Hollywood Studios, and ride Tower of Terror ten times, because our Google Doc says so, and it hasn't let us down yet.

Enthusiasm Check!

Robert: "A good 10!"
Courtney: 15!
Colleen: 10! Today was a great day!
Zach: 13.5! Today could not have gone better.

Farewell, and hopefully we'll survive the night without any squirrel attacks!
